How to size yourself

How do I know which size to order?

Select the size that best matches your largest measurement (bust, waist or hip).

Remember that 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.

If you're between sizes, it's usually best to order the larger size so you have room to move, or some alterations can easily be made.

First:

1. The Bust

Say that you are a size small and the garment/item is labeled a size small with an 88 centimeter bust and you want to know how to convert that to inches and wether to buy the size small or go up a size.

Remember that 1 inch is 2.54 centimeters.

Okay, so the garment has an 86 centimeter bust.

Small bust size 86 divided by 2.54 (1 inch) equals 33.858 inches.

Now let’s measure ourself, so we get our bust size.

Have someone place the measuring tape around your chest area with the measuring tape parallel to the ground.

Let your arms hang naturally at your sides.

Have your friend measure under your underarms, around your back and over the fullest part of your bust.

You want to get the largest chest area for the measurement or your garment will be too tight.

Make sure the measuring tape is snug but not tight.

Now that you have the measurement compare it to 33.858 inches.

If your measurement is under this number, and you did the measurement correctly, you will be fine; but if you are over this number, you need to order a size larger.

Next:

2. The Waist

Say that the same size small garment/item as above has a size 66 centimeter waistline and you want to know how to convert that to inches.

Well, we do the same thing as we did with the bust measurement.

First, remember that 1 inch is 2.54 centimeters.  Okay, so the garment has a 66 centimeter waistline.

Size Small item with waistline size 66 divided by 2.54 (1 inch) equals 25.984 inches.

Now let’s measure ourself so we get our waistline size.

Bend to one side to find the spot where your waist naturally creases; it should be on your side right under your navel.

Mark that spot with your finger then measure around the waist at that spot.

Keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor and snug against your skin, but don't pull it tight.

Now that you have the measurement compare it to the 25.984 inches.

If you’re under this number, and you did the measurement correctly, you will be fine; but if you’re over this number, you need to order a size larger.

Finally

3. The Hips

Say that the same size small garment/item as above has a size 88 centimeter hip and you want to know how to convert that to inches.

We do the exact same thing as we did with the waistline measurement except around the hip this time.

First, remember that 1 inch is 2.54 centimeters.  Okay, so the garment has an 88 centimeter hip.  Usually the hip will be larger than the waistline.

Garment size Small, hip size 88 divided by 2.54 (1 inch) equals 34.645 inches.

Now let’s measure ourself so we get our hip size.

Stand up straight with your feet together.

Have a friend measure around your hip and rear area; putting the tape around the fullest (biggest) part.

Make sure to keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor.

Now that you have the measurement compare it to the 34.645 inches.

If you’re under this number, and you did the measurement correctly, you will be fine; but if you’re over this number, you need to order a size larger.
